  1. Open the Thunderbird application and click on your Email.
  2. Then go to Create a new account section and select Email.
  3. After this check, the “skip this and use my existing Email option” checkbox.
  4. Now Enter your Name, Username, and password of Yahoo account and click on the continue button.
  5. Next, select the IMAP option.
  6. If you wish to configure it manually, click on the ‘Manual Config‘ option and set the following parameters:
    Incoming Mail (SMTP) Server – imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server – smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Incoming Port – 993 with SSL
    Outgoing Port – 465 with SSL or port 587 either with SSL or TLS
  7. After being done, click on the Re-test option, which checks the entered settings.
  8. Click on the Done option to save the settings. Which finishes the process.

How to sync Yahoo Emails to Thunderbird using POP3

  1. Log-in into your Yahoo account select the Gear ->Settings.
  2. Click on the Edit button, which is next to the Yahoo account settings.
  3. Check if the POP option is enabled.
  4. Now click on the save button and exit.
  5. Open the Thunderbird application and click on your Email.
  6. Then go to Create a new account section and select Email.
  7. After this check, the “skip this and use my existing Email option” checkbox.
  8. Now Enter your Name, Username, and password of Yahoo account and click on the continue button.
  9. Next, select the POP3 option.
  10. Click on the Done button to finish.
